Throughout her childhood, Pastor Tash was brave and adventurous, sometimes taking risks without fully considering the consequences. She scaled walls, took on challenges beyond her age or ability, jumped into the water before learning to swim, and insisted on riding a bike without training wheels, despite the scrapes and bruises. Her embrace of toughness and rejection of stereotypes eventually led her to enlist in the Army. As she entered adulthood, however, she struggled to reconcile her growing understanding of herself with the religious devotion of her childhood. She moved away from God and developed unhealthy ways of coping.

By the time she came to Christ the Cornerstone, Pastor Tash was searching for more than a church to attend. She wanted a meaningful spiritual life rooted in honesty, self-examination, and a community where she did not have to hide the harder parts of her story or the person she was created to be. At Christ the Cornerstone, she found space to examine her motives, release her anger, and place God back at the center of her life. That inward transformation became visible in her daily practices: she has been sober since 2008, keeps God’s calling at the center of her life, takes responsibility for her choices, and, although an introvert, expresses herself honestly through music, exercise, and communication—a practice she continues to develop.

Ordained as a pastor in 2012, Pastor Tash now challenges congregants to recognize their God-given value and explore faith with honesty rather than fear. Her ministry embodies the lessons of her own journey: spiritual health takes root in self-awareness, grows through openness to change, and finds its purpose in the courage to move in the direction Jesus is pointing (John 1:5).
