Pastor Jamie’s life is anchored in a deep, abiding love for God, a journey that began in a home filled with music. Growing up, she and her two siblings often (reluctantly!) sang alongside her parents in a gospel group, and she fondly recalls performing O Holy Night on the flute while her grandmother played the piano. While she has always felt God’s presence, Pastor Jamie is grateful for her journey from seeing God as reflecting a set of rigid rules to experiencing God as a loving relationship. Her favorite Bible verse, John 3:17, perfectly captures this, focusing on Jesus as love rather than judge.

First coming to Christ the Cornerstone in 2008 (prompted by her now-wife, Pastor Tash) this community is where Pastor Jamie learned to minister to others. Though she sometimes questioned her own skills and worthiness, she embraced a calling as a shepherd for the congregation. She defines her ministry by being present through both good and bad times, offering unconditional love and constantly pointing the way to Jesus. She does this by encouraging her congregants to find their own unique journey to a loving relationship with Jesus.

To Pastor Jamie, being a disciple of Jesus is more than eternal salvation, it's a way of living here on earth, always directing our actions to show our love for God and His people. Pastor Jamie hopes her enthusiasm, honesty, vulnerability, and willingness to fail provide a model for others on their own spiritual journeys. As the church grows, she is committed to maintaining its small-family culture while expanding service to the community with a willingness to do the hard things with love and humility.
